Canadian Artists who inspire me are contemporary artists like,

Artist vision: To create a body of work depicting Prince Edward Island landscapes and shorelines. My Inspiration has always been drawn from the rural way of life, it's natural elements, the creatures that live there and the sea that surrounds.

My vision is to bring awareness and dialogue to the disappearance of Prince Edward Island's coastal and rural vistas. These beautiful natural places and spaces are soon to be dotted with more towering summer homes, built by people who ironically come here for the beauty of the pastoral farmers fields and picturesque ocean shorelines.

I feel the need to document the landscape and the fragile coastal shores of where I grew up. I will draw my inspiration from my childhood memories, the local stories, it's music and folklore from past to present. This project will encourage me to explore and research this topic further. My identity as an islander and painter is at risk. It will be challenge for me to show clearly what will be forever lost! I will gain experience not only on the subject matter but with the technical aspects of producing the work.
